The Dark Urge...
Standard white dragonborn sorcerer base game build; using the Durge's Mangled Head mod for Extra Detail.
6'5, very striking looking dragonborn, with his crest of horns, blazing red eyes, deep red patches and muscular build. His past was fragmented by the explosion, waking up from the Nautiloid with a tadpole in their eye, no memory of their past, and an itching desperation that drove him to kill, slaughter, murder without mercy. Fighting back the urge, they managed to gather together a party to get the damned parasites out of his brain and find out who he was.[Game spoilers ahead!]
After seeing him tear apart an innocent bard in camp, Gale, the resident wizard, came up with a name for our identityless leader - Caedes. An old language word meaning Slaughterer, although he's never told them this origin. The word stuck, and Caedes now carries it with pride... although whether unaware of the meaning remains to be said. The urge has an awful grip on him. Striking, stoic, generally calm and quiet, Caedes still falls to it from time to time. Weathering the constant pain caused by his 'father', Bhaal - the god of murder himself. As Caedes' past unfolds, he becomes more and more unstable - losing weight, struggling with headaches, nosebleeds, visual issues, and worse, all because he refuses to fully give in to the urge that claws in his throat at all times. As the journey goes on, he accepts the illithid; if you write with him during act 3, Caedes will have black eyes and spidering markings along his white flesh.POST GAME - Caedes marries Gale, and they have a child, Mirabeli. Please note that unless otherwise stated, Caedes will ship with anyone and the variations of Gale written here are different to the Gale written in his 'official' story.

Gale Dekarios
FULL NAME | Gale Dekarios |
NICKNAME | Gale of Waterdeep |
AGE | Mid-30s onward |
GENDER | Trans male, he/him |
ORIENTATION | Fem leaning Pan |
FACECLAIM | None |
Standard game build; pure wizard.
Human male, just over 6ft, mid thirties, with shoulder length brown hair kept in messy waves. Hazel-brown eyes, a naturally soft expression and easy to smile. The orb markings are burnt into his chest and trail up to his left eye.Once Mystra's chosen, Gale has gone through rather a lot of heartbreak and confusion in his life. A human wizard, exceptionally skilled from a young age, he made a horrendous mistake that cursed him with a magic-hungry orb, trapped within his chest, destroying his essence from the inside out.
Bookish, confident, ambitious and sometimes self-doubting; Gale believes his only value lies in the magic that he can provide.Over the course of the journey, he learns to accept that he has value in more than what he can create or be.POST GAME - he has settled and is quite comfortable being a teacher at Blackstaff Academy. He enjoys his work, and has softened a lot - quite literally - from the life of study and teaching. However, some part of him most definitely hungers for adventure once more.
Terra Cotta
FULL NAME | Terra Kotta |
NICKNAME | Ter |
AGE | Early 20s |
GENDER | Nonbinary, they/them |
ORIENTATION | Asexual |
FACECLAIM | None |
Terra Kotta is an Aarakocra, a birdlike species, resembling themself a red tail hawk. They are short in stature, at just about four feet, and carry themselves with confidence mostly borne from not knowing anything else. They were raised on a farm by Firbolgs, as their egg had been found on the very boundaries of one of their orchards. The firbolgs who ran the farm, feeling pity for the egg, decided to hatch it, expecting to have perhaps a helpful new beast on the farm. What they didn't expect was a squalling but very much sapient Aarakocra chick, considering their rarity in these parts. As they aged, they found their natural abilities to fly and their keen eye exceptionally useful. Trained in the bow and arrow, they would spend their nights hiding in trees, protecting the farm from animals, raiders, and all matter of issues. But now a blight is spreading across the land, and the farm is making less and less money, they decide something must be done and set off on their own adventure into the world.Quiet and sometimes jarringly blunt due to their upbringing, Terra Cotta means well but often makes an idiot of themself. Not that they notice.
